Excellent, reasonably priced food, cooked by a River Cottage trained chef, using local produce at the Volunteer Inn ( 31 Broad Street, Lyme Regis, DT7 3QE ; tel: 01297 442214)

River Cottage Axminster Canteen and Deli (Trinity Sq., Axminster, EX13 5AN) is open daily, 9am-5pm; Wednesday-Friday evenings, 6pm-8pm, and Saturdays from 6.30pm.
(A market is held every Thursday outside the Canteen in Trinity Sq.)
For Indian cuisine, try Lal Qilla (61 Broad St., Lyme Regis, DT7 3QF; tel: 01297 442505/444602). Open every day 12 noon-2:30pm and 6:00pm-11:30pm. Recommended for dining in and takeaways. NB they do not serve alcohol, but are happy for clients to take their own.
The Hunters Lodge, Axminster offers an extensive Menu featuring fresh locally caught Fish, super steaks, traditional pub favourites, home made ‘Specials’, or light bites for those with a small appetite, you may be spoilt for choice!
